点评:When you have just visited Ballina's best restaurant (no. 1 on TA) that is a hard act to follow. The IH is an expensive place so you would expect top-notch food. Then again it is a hotel restaurant so perhaps expectations shouldn't be too high. There is a vegetarian menu, but there are two pasta mains and a vege-burger - not exactly pushing the boat out. We had soup, a goats cheese roulade that was basically a cylinder of - albeit nice - cheese and a stuffed pepper with chickpeas and tomato that is the sort of thing you could easily rustle up at home: it lacked any complexity of flavour. The pasta was way over-salted. A chocolate tart for dessert was very very sweet and the pastry on the tough side. The best vegetarian cooking in Ireland has moved well beyond what is being offered here, and there is potential for improvement in what is a calm and well-designed space. Service was OK but could also be a bit more focused.
