Elephant & Castle - Brittas Bay的点评
点评：I am rarely compelled to write a review but if an experience is exceptional or very poor, I do it. In this instance I find it astonishing to think we are expected to pay €14.95 for a second rate sandwich with a garnish of tortilla crisps and a desert spoon of salsa. Curiously neither are appropriate with a Rueben sandwich but that and the fact that that the pickle was forgotten is not the main issue. Two thin pieces of white toasted bread, two meagre slices of pastrami and some sauerkraut does not make a fine sandwich. Simply put it was terrible, lacking generosity and the definition of disappointment. We complained, the waitress was polite, we ate it grumpily.
The Caesar salad was also below standard. Using a vinaigrette style rather than Caesar dressing was wrong in our opinion. It is unmentioned on the menu and turned the salad limp and vinegary.
The only saving grace was the chicken wings which were tasty and hit the mark. Our drinks too were fine.
Unfortunately we don’t have photographs to share A reduction in our bill was not offered after we complained. If it had been maybe I wouldn’t have written this review but suffice it to say we won’t be back and would be hesitant to recommend Elephant and Castle to others.
