A few weeks ago, three of us dined at Aspendos restaurant in Canterbury and I was thoroughly impressed. The food was some of the best I've had locally - fresh, cooked to order, and beautifully presented. I would highly recommend the restaurant experience.
Unfortunately, my recent experience with Galata's takeaway service was disappointing and one I won't be repeating. I ordered through their website as they preferred, selecting three kebabs, chips, and onion rings. The lack of a confirmation email was immediately disconcerting.
When the food arrived, it was the complete antithesis of the restaurant experience. The meat was carelessly thrown into a takeaway container on soggy pitta bread. While the meat itself was tasty, they completely missed the chicken shish kebab from our order. I had to call the restaurant and wait an additional 15 minutes for the missing food to arrive.
Despite living only a 3-minute drive from the takeaway, everything arrived tepid. The chips and onion rings needed to be reheated in our air fryer to be enjoyable.
It's baffling how the same establishment can deliver such contrasting experiences. While their restaurant deserves five stars, the takeaway service falls significantly short. I'll be dining in from now on.
