The Fountain At Clent的点评
点评：We have been coming here for over 30 years and have always found the food to be exceptional, plentiful and good value for money. Today we came for Sunday lunch as a pre Christmas treat and were disappointed in both the portion size and the inflated cost. The roast beef main course, which we did mot have had a whopping price tag of £26.95 which included a never seen before supplement of £2. I had the sea bass which came in at £24.95 and comprised one fairly small fillet with a small amount of sauce. To be fair I could not fault the food but given the small portion and the reduced amount of cheap vegetables the price was nothing short of ridiculous.
Every previous visit I have made here has left me stuffed to capacity, forcing me to find room for one of the delicious deserts. I found myself still hungry after the main course and opted for the chocolate brownie sundae which was dry, lacking flavour and without a hint of sweetness. It was my intention to purchase gift vouchers today as a thankyou to a friend for a recent kindness but after this experience I decided against it. Come on Fountain you had an amazing reputation, built on many years of producing excellent fare and providing an amazing service. Do not risk losing it due to what feels very much like penny pinching. You are or were better than that.
