We stopped by on bikes, hoping to enjoy a drink on the terrace. When we asked if that was possible, the reply was: “Only if you’re going to eat.” Fair enough, we said we’d order something. A man from the staff said he’d go check – and then… radio silence. Absolute, awkward silence. No one came back. No one cared.
After a few long minutes of being completely ignored, we decided to leave. As we were riding off, someone who seemed to be the manager came out and theatrically slammed a wooden pallet in front of the entrance – apparently to make sure no other cyclists would feel welcome. Message received, loud and clear.
Rude, arrogant, and shockingly unprofessional behavior.
If your place is meant only for a private crowd, just hang a sign that says “No outsiders allowed” and save the rest of us the time and disappointment.
