点评：Really disappointing experience
We came in for our wedding anniversary one Thursday evening. We chose from the main menu.
For starters husband ordered the fish pancake and I had the scallops. They were priced at around £15 and £19 each I think. The pancake was ok - no real complaints, well presented and OK taste, nothing exciting. I had the scallops, the presentation was beautiful however it only came with two small scallops. The overall taste quite bland. It came with a cracker on the side which was unbelievably sweet it tasted like sesame seeds set in a sweet sugary honey, it didn’t go with the savoury dish at all and stuck in my teeth, I left this.
For main we both had the pork belly - the cheapest on the main menu at £30 per portion. Again it looked beautiful. However the pork belly was very dry, not the usually crispy fat, indulgent experience we would expect. Actually it was some of the worst pork belly I’ve had in my life.
My husband had two glasses of wine - this was fine. I had two soft drinks.
We skipped desserts.
The services and setting were great. The food presentation was great but overall it was tasteless food.
The bill was £136.
For a fine dining experience at a Michelin star restaurant paying these prices I expected a lot more. Most things like service and presentation were good but it was massively let down by the lack of flavour in the dishes - I expected to be wowed by food that melted in the mouth and we were really left wanting so much more. We’ve had many much nicer meals in the local area in recent weeks.
I would give them another try, perhaps we ordered the wrong things on a bad night, though I wouldn’t be rushing back any time soon.
