点评:First time visiting since its relocation to Victoria Square. My partner and I had a lovely meal in this small, delightful restaurant. Keen and helpful young staff. The food was as good as ever. Spicy albondigas (meatballs) were my favourite with the pan fried mushrooms in sherry, cream and herb sauce a close second (made me want to try and cook this at home). One of the best Spanish tortillas I’ve ever had. Padron peppers as good as ever as was the bread. Andalusian chicken was on special: chicken fillets in a cream almond and raison sauce. Pudding was Crème Catalan with an unusual blood orange sorbet (textured with Seville orange rind). The restaurant doubles as a cafe in the day. So any left over homemade cakes are also on offer as desert. We shared a truly excellent Victoria sponge.
In short with a glass of rosé and a Seville beer we were transported back to one of our Spanish holidays in an (almost) sunny Brightlingsea!
