Great value with everything we could possibly need

点评：When staying away from home I always pack a few hangers as I know there won't be enough. However, I'd never been to the Bayview Guest House in Bangor, Northern Ireland before. A wardrobe full of hangers, drink-making facilities, hairdryer, a box of tissues, a sink with mirrored cupboard above, plenty of drawers, flat screen TV, bedside cupboards with a lamp ... and even an electric blanket. We had everything we could possibly need in our second floor room which was very quiet, pleasantly warm, clean and attractive. Although there was no en-suite, we were the only people using the toilet/shower room along the corridor, and its contents - like those in the bedroom - had been carefully thought out to include hooks for towels and clothes, plenty of toilet rolls (in other places I've had to ask for more), a choice of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hand gel. I noticed there was also an iron and ironing board left in the corridor for guests to use. On arrival, we were shown a lovely, relaxing sitting room with a sea view, another TV with a selection of DVDs by the side and a well-stocked bookcase. We were the only guests using this relaxing and comfortable space. There is also a very pleasant outdoor seating area. On arrival, we were asked about our food choices for breakfast and what time we would like it. My husband opted for a full Irish fry - which more than filled him (he had the same again the second day but skipped the black pudding), while I had poached eggs on toast with bacon and tomatoes. The food was all cooked to perfection. Orange juice, tea/coffee and toast with a choice of jams were also provided. The couple have been running the guest house for about 35 years and their experience shows. They were friendly but without forcing unnecessary conversation and we felt totally at ease in their company and the environment. When booking, we had struggled to find an affordable hotel or guest house in Bangor and are very grateful to the proprietor of another hotel (which was full) for recommending the Bayview to us. It's excellent value for money and we wouldn't hesitate to book a room there again.
