点评:I booked a weekend trip for my mums 67th Birthday. I went through Booking.com but there seemed to be an issue with my card and no deposit was taken from my account. I contacted the hotel to double check the booking, and the owner’s son confirmed no booking was made. I also contacted a 2nd time and spoke to the owner who said if no payment was taken from my account, then the booking would not have gone through.
I had not received any confirmation of the booking so thought this has been sorted. Sadly a few days later my mum has a stroke so the holiday wouldn’t have happened anyway. At least 2 months later I was at work and got a text from the landlord to say that our room was ready? I work In the NHS so difficult to have my phone on me all the time. I text back to say that we didn’t go ahead with the booking. The owner then said the booking was still live. £200.00 was also taken from my account.
I contacted Booking.com who were very sympathetic to our situation and wrote on our behalf to the owner explaining my mum’s ill health and the lack of communication between all parties. To my disappointment the owner responded to say that they will not be issuing a refund even though she said there was lack of communication and misunderstanding.So, my mum and I are out £200.00 for a trip we didn’t even attend.
