点评：We had chosen this as one of our 'to do's' whilst on holiday on IOW. The building is stunning, the interior is quaintly decorated and has some very interesting collections there is also an outside area if the weather is good. The day we went it had been raining so I guess the tea room was busier than usual and may account for our experience, which went like this....after about 5 minutes wait, we were greeted at the door. The waiting staff changed their 'no tables free' comment after they realised there were 3 tables for 2 free and clearly in sight. It also turned out that most of the tables in the rear were free as well, so not sure what that was about. We were advised that half the ingredients of the signature afternoon tea, were unavailable as the delivery had not arrived. OK no problem we will chose something else. There was another large table which obviously took some time to get organised which caused a delay in service. Whilst the staff were pleasant, we found the service was almost comedic. In fairness, we were in no hurry, and we did find the whole experience rather funny yet we felt the staff were unable to cope with the demand. After serving the large table our order was served, and left us underwhelmed. Although the food was nice, it was unremarkable. When we requested another pot of tea, the staff member looked completely astonished! Tea? In a tea room? Whatever next! Overall an ok experience, although for us, just average.
