点评：Walking by and thought we’d get a couple of portions of chips, as we strolled along the promenade.
The positive was the chips tasted quite nice - maybe it was the new potatoes. They were crispy and positively but strangely a little chewy. Hence 2* stars instead of 1*
However, firstly £2.70 for a portion of chips - one size only and it was a really small portion. The smallest portion of chips I’ve ever had! Furthermore, the small portion had lots of scraps and less chips. So it was a small portion of scraps with a few chips.
My wife, asked for some more, as it was so small, but I had already walked away by then. The young girl and boy behind the counter did put another half scoop in - so fair enough.
We eat a fair amount of fish and chips in Suffolk and Norfolk and actually any seaside town we visit and regretfully (although they did taste quite nice) these have been by far the worst in terms of cost and portion size.
We wouldn’t normally get chips from here, there are plenty of very good fish and chip shops in Lowestoft, but the location and the hope that they would be good resulted in this purchase.
Next time we will walk a few minutes down the road.
