点评：Stayed overnight at The Clifton and very much enjoyed it. This is a Voco hotel and consequently has recently been refurbished with their signature decor. We were met by a very friendly and professional reception on arrival. Our room was a King Premium with Seaview. It was well furnished and equipped. Lovely bathroom with walkin shower. Had coffee provided from an nespresso machine as well as tea and hot chocolate and ginger biscuits. The view was through a huge triple bay window with the coastal walk and sea in sight at every turn. We had lunch in the bar which was very nice and our dinner was in the Marco Pierre White restaurant. As we had booked the dinner rate we had the choice of a Menu of the Day or we could choose from the main menu and receive a £25 per person discount off the total bill. Personally, after now trying three different Marco Pierre White restaurants I wouldn’t bother again. I find some of the combinations he puts together not to my taste and would just book bed and breakfast in future and eat in the bar. Breakfast the next morning however was the highlight of our stay. We were met on entry by a very nice gentleman whom showed us to a table. He explained that we could have anything on the very extensive buffet or we could order from a made to order menu. We chose to order, my choice of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on sourdough toast was excellant and although made to order was not long in arriving at table. We had coffee provided in a nice cafetière but other coffees and teas were available. We sampled the pastries on offer as well and they were very fresh and very tasty. In our opinion one of the best hotel breakfasts we have ever had. It’s worth a visit just to experience it. We had a very nice time and intend to visit again.
