Fantasic way to spend an Afternoon
Skegness Distillery的点评
点评：This was a 70th Birthday present from my Daughter. Never quite sure how these things will go but what a fantastic visit it turned out to be. Our Hosts Richard and Sarah were brilliant, Richard with his knowledge of the distilling process and Sarah with her attention to detail over the selection and presentation of our drinks and tasters. Richard explained both Gin and Rum making in detail and how various botanicals affect flavour also the compulsory botanicals that allow Gin to be called Gin.
Whilst everyone else had Gin I opted for Rum and enjoyed some very generous measurer of Rum. My particular favourite was The Arcane Delicatissime Grand Gold from Mauritius. It was a fun and informal introduction to the world of Craft Distilling. Richard was kind enough to share his personal journey into distilling and his battles over the Jolly Fisherman image which is synonymous with Skegness. I look forward to drinking the Rum I made and also the bottle of Skegness Spiced Rum that it would have been rude not to buy.
Would I return? The simple answer is yes. Richard and Sarah thank you for making my present special.
