Yarm Road Fish & chips的点评
点评：It is a while since I have visited but wanted to check it out again after hearing about their award. (Well done to the owners)! Some family members with me and who live in Scotland just wanted to taste the cod as they can only get haddock where they live. Across a family of 5, 3 of us had cod, one had scampi and little one had cod bites. They were all cooked beautifully with lovely crispy batter and succulent flakes of pure white fish that was so tasty. This has to be a great asset for Darlington, a town which I rarely visit but will do so now - just for the fish and chips!
The service was second to none and great patience was shown by Will and other guy (name escapes me) as we took a while to make up our minds what to have!
Sometimes you just know when a place is right and upon entering it doesn't go unnoticed how spotlessly clean this establishment is. Another vital plus point for me. Looking at the building works going on next door, it seems the owners are creating a separate section in order to eat inside. That will definitely be a plus for me and I can't wait to return when it opens. I can imagine similar queues that have become familiar at Magpies at Whitby (another place I must re-visit).
I can't comment on value for money as I seldom have fish and chips so can't compare with other establishments. That said, I don't mind paying if the quality of food is good. In the case of Yarm Road, I would say it is exceptional and I will certainly be back next time I'm in Darlington.
