点评:My husband found this restaurant & was quite excited as it had many good reviews. The welcome was not exactly warm - and we were put in a kind of ante room to the main restaurant and a walkway through to the downstairs! I had a lovey view of the kitchen! We were tired and hungry and decided not to complain and give it a try. We knew there were no menus and we eat everything so that was no problem. The choice of wine is red or white - we had white (fish restaurant) - but it was decent and reasonably priced (which we only knew at the end of the meal) BUT if you need or want a wine menu - forget it.
Then came the food. Started DELICIOUS : Carpaccio of salmon - sooo good! Then the mussels, good broth (garlic, white wine, herbs)I’ve had fatter mussels but these were fine. Then the pasta - delicious, delicate fresh truffle pasta in the lightest creamy/truffle sauce!
Then the main event - a Steinblatt - don’t know the English name……big flat fish. Very tasty but slightly over done for me & on a bed of veg which had been overfried. I would have preferred simpler cooking of what was obviously an excellent fish. All a bit over salted. No pudding but a free schnapps. The bill was €144 without tip. We didn’t realise but it’s €50 a head for the food, and an extra €10 each for the truffle pasta (the table behind us didn’t have it) & the wine was like €24. So with tip it was €165. I think that’s ok given the freshness and amount of food, but service left a lot to be desired in terms of panache and also all too quick. We don’t mind a bit of rough & ready but would expect to pay less. Think they either need to serve less food & charge less or else up their service and ditch the ante room
Not a disaster but wouldn’t return.
