点评:All the cafes around about were full and no tables at 11:30 am so I jumped in here. Only fish for fish and chips was cod so I tried it but it was very mushy without much flavour - not like haddock which is the fish we always get where I live in Scotland. However, the crust was amazingly crunchy and lovely as were the chips. Since our local fish and chip place can't make a chip to save their life I was absolutely delighted to taste this little bites of crunch on the outside, fluffy on the inside heaven. The tartar sauce was good too. Pricing was what I expected we pay about 10 GBP for fish and chips in Scotland, it was £24.00 with a beverage in Reykjavik. However, because of the US dollar dropping massively while we were away, it was $33.00. for the same meal. My US family was not happy. We all knew things were going to be pricey but no one had planned for such crushing blows to the US economy.
The white plastic seats in the restaurant were actually comfortable which was a nice surprise. The place was clean, the staff nice and they cleaned my table but didn't rush me away so I lingered and went over my guide book. I enjoyed my meal and glad I tried the cod although I didn't necessarily love it but I knew better than to order it again. When I called my husband (lots of North Sea fishing experience) he advised that was very typical for cod.
