点评:Firstly, Sweden has a lot going for it , at least when the sun is shining, but it is an average cycling destination. Our group , all cycling buddies from Australia, rate Japan , New Zealand, Baltics , Czech Republic and other places much higher. Sweden is industrial, has an urban sprawl and is blighted by lots of major roads ( and roadworks ). A few beautiful highlights, like the Baltic and occasional old town areas , didn't make up for all the hours peddling past houses and close to busy roads.
Sweden is expensive ( especially for us spending Aussie dollars ) and other countries offer much better value.
We managed to get lost every morning trying to follow their supplied maps , despite using both the paper versions and downloaded Pedallo. We are well travelled, and getting lost was new to us.
The hotels were just ok , EXCEPT for friends sharing a room who weren't a couple. Booking twin rooms could result in a double bed ( not a large double bed ) with 2 doonas . Check this very carefully in advance. Hotel receptions seemed surprised that twins rooms had not been specified.
The bikes were newish , but heavy city bikes . Progress was slow. Fortunately Sweden is pretty flat.
Ferry rides were a highlight , and make sure you visit the ( carless ) Islands off Goteberg.
