点评:Food (cuisine type) and beverages: Authentic Greek cuisine. Mainly fish and seafood. There are also vegetarian dishes on the menu. The portions are enough to share with two people. The food was tasty. The food quality was adequate. As a recommendation for improvement, we would have liked to see less frozen products and farm-raised fish on the menu for the main courses.
Dishes on the menu we tried and recommend: Bruschetta with marinated anchovy, tomato confit and fresh basil (starter), steamed mussels with lemon butter sauce and parsley (starter), Greek salad with tomatoes, olives, onions, cucumber, peppers, capers, feta cheese (salads), cod tempura with fried potatoes and tartar sauce (main course), sea bass with sweet potato chips, celeriac puree and lemon cream sauce (main course).
Service and wait time: Warm welcome and friendly service. Fast table service.
Value: Prices are reasonable. We perceive our dining experience at Poet as good value for money. We paid about 70 euros for 2 starters, a salad, two main dishes. Prices for a bottle of local white wine vary between €24 and €45. You can also order house wine by the glass (€4.5 for 0.5L). A soft drink costs €4 and bottled water €3 for 1L. We were offered a local liqueur as a digestif at the end of our meal.
Location and accessibility: Antiparos town within walking distance of the port.
Atmosphere: Romantic. The roof terrace is lit with lanterns. The restaurant has an artsy touch. There are pots with plants and fragrant herbs on the stairs.
View: The terraces on the ground floor and the roof look out on the pleasant inner streets of Antiparos town.
When best to visit: April, May, September, October (shoulder months).
Reservation process: We did not reserve a table beforehand. We visited Poet in late May 2023. We walked in for dinner around 9PM. We had a wide choice of seating options on the ground floor and on the roof terrace. In high season and during the summer months of July and August, we recommend booking in advance. You can dine as a couple, but the restaurant is also suitable for small groups.
Tip policy: Not required in Greece. You can round the bill up. In our opinion, a tip of 5-10% is an appreciation of good service.
We consider Poet a must-visit in Antiparos. We recommend this restaurant and would visit again.
