Amazing Truffle Hunting and Cretan Experience

点评：It was an amazing experience in terms of both truffle hunting and experiencing and understanding more of Creten life.
Nikos and his daughters were most gracious hosts. Upon arrival to the forest, they prepared herbal tea and local snacks before setting off to the forest with us for the truffle hunting.
Nikos and their truffle hunting dog Carla lead the way in the truffle hunting and it's amazing watching the great partnership between the 2 of them. They found more than 10 truffles of different sizes. The hike in the forest was so serene and gave us the opportunity to soak in the nature. After which Nikos prepared a hearty lunch using the truffles. They also shared with us the work they doing with the museum to preserve the eco system. We also had the opportunity to try their home made honey, Raki infused with honey and red wine. Nikos is also a bee keeper so we were thrilled to visit his bee farm !
Was certainly a great day to spend with Nikos and his family to experience cretan way of life, cretan produce from farm to table, the Rouvas forest and the truffle hunting. Would definitely highly recommend this experience for all !
