点评：105olives Travel Boutique is the Crete partner of Veni Vidi Travel, which organized my 21 days Aegean Odyssey April 2025. I spent 3 full days in Crete with 105olives founder/owner Ekaterina and had exceptional experiences. (Great story on how she came up with the name.) She is a wealth of knowledge about Crete's history and the influences from Greece, Genoa, Venice and the Ottomans that occupied the largest island in the Greek Isles. More importantly, Ekaterina shared the culture of Crete and how it is traditional, unique, and at times surprising. Ekaterina was born and raised in Russia, yet speaks impeccable English, Greek and probably other languages. She shared how she adapted to Crete, met her husband and how it is raising 3 children. It added a personal dimension to Crete in addition to the pretty beaches, remote villages and archeological sites. She was spot on when she said that the one word to describe Crete is “diverse.” From the beach I looked at snow covered mountains.
Ekaterina drove me in her large Nissan SUV, she is very safe and knows her way around the island. She is an excellent photographer and can suggest best vantage points. I especially appreciated that she knew many of the restaurant owners so it seemed like we received extra services. We stopped on the side of the road to photograph a flock of sheep and struck up a conversation with the three herders.
During our drives she was also on her phone and explained that she was also coordinating a 40 passenger bus for a British wedding party. Seems like she could do it all without dropping any details and still making me feel special.
105olives made my Crete stay fun and memorable. I highly recommend them if you want a personalized and unique Cretan experience.
