点评：We have just returned from a full days trip to the North and East of the Island.
Our guide was named Gilberto and what he didn't know about Madeira and the areas we visited weren't worth knowing. An excellent, friendly and approachable guide - Thank you.
The tour covered Sao Vincente, Sao Joao, Machico and lots of viewpoints in between. He even diverted to Santana so I could see the houses there.
The restaurant in Sao Joao, where we had intended to stop for lunch, was fully booked - which was obviously a shock to Gilbert but he dealt with it really well and took us to another restaurant named Caba Aereo, about 10 minutes away. He checked that the restaurant could accomodate us before we went in and then checked that we were all settled and were alright. Our food was really delicious, so for us it was an excellent choice.
A thoroughly enjoyable and interesting day.
