Worth every penny, a great day out if you like wine!
Discovering Madeira One Day Wine Tour的点评
点评：We went on the one day wine tour and our guide was Rubina. We got picked up at our apartment and chauffeured around the island by a very nice driver called Pedro and I must say that, at times, I was glad he was manoeuvring around the tight, windy roads and not me or my husband. Our first stop was Blandy’s and we tasted some lovely Madeiras there and had an interesting tour of their operation, giving us the history of their Company. The next stop was Barbusano Winery, in the North of the island, which made table wines. This was the best part of the tour where we got to taste six different table wines and had a wonderful lunch of beef espatada, chunks of steak cooked on wooden skewers over an open flame. The tour of the vineyard was also very interesting and provided amazing views. The last stop was for more Madeira at the Barberton winery in the hills above Camaro de Lobos. The chap who took the tour was brilliant, with just the right blend of knowledge and patter, before we got to taste two more Madeira wines, of which the Malvasia 10 y.o. was my favourite. Then we were taken right back to our apartment.
It was a great day out. Rubina (Ruby) was very good, organised, friendly and helpful, with great English speaking skills and an in depth knowledge of her subject. The trip went flawlessly and was worth every penny.
