点评:A review is personal, describes an experience at a given moment. One can debate on the emotions around it. Fact is, if you visit a Michelin starred restaurant, there are expectations, certainly if comparing them to similar places. At Toma we saw a nice location, well decorated in earthy tones, wood and grey. We saw an army of staff, all uniformed, except for the occasional odd sneaker choice. The concept, buy local, cook on seasons, is not original, as applied often nowadays. What followed was ok, not more. A flawless rythmd service, a chef applying modern cooking techniques with focus on the food cost, literally. We missed emotion, creativity, passion, color, on the plates and also from the staff. It was sterile at moments, that's the emotion on our review. Prices are correct. Could not really understand why the secrecy on the number of plates and its content when presenting the menu choices (2 to be correct). At the very end, we were 'walked' back to the gate and received our list of dishes consumed which was odd. Perhaps creative in a sense, but still odd. Kudos to the chef, he has a charming personality and is omnipresent. But ultimately it's all about passion on the plate and that's what I missed, personally, no offence.
