Nice apartment but a bit tired

点评：We didn’t have a car and arrived in Alcalà by train planning on getting a taxi to the resort. Saturday afternoon and no taxis waiting. We phoned the resort reception who kindly phoned a local taxi company to collect us. The fare was 20 euros. Check-in was very smooth. We were given top floor corner apartment. Narrow spiral staircase was difficult for me to navigate with a disability and a suitcase. We had two balconies but neither was very private from the neighbours. The apartment was clean and tidy. A kettle would have been nice to boil water to make tea and coffee. We compromised and used a saucepan to boil water. We had air conditioning in the living room and a fan in the bedroom. The fan wasn’t fixed flush to the ceiling and was very noisy until we used some cardboard to stop the rattling. The resort is across the road from the beach and beach chairs and umbrella were provided in the unit. A small convenience store is around the corner from the resort. We also shopped at the Spar in town for a better supply of gluten free items. A 2km walk into town and there are lots of eating places. We didn’t have a car which made exploring nearby towns impossible as bus and trains are not regular or timed to coincide with each other. Also guests are allowed dogs but we found them very annoying with barking, crying and whining constantly when owners left them for hours while they went out.
