点评:This is an unusual experience.
The restaurant is minimalist in design and sports an open kitchen. The outside seating - on the pavement - looked unloved and this particular piece of street scene is not pretty. Inside is definitely preferable.
Staff are helpful, rather than enthusiastic, and lacked polished front of house skills. We were directed, in an empty restaurant, to the rear of the room, which was relatively dark, and would have had my dining partner staring at a wall. When asked, they relocated us closer to daylight which was welcome.
The menu is available solely via QR code (good for the environment) but was translated from Spanish to English by by someone unqualified to do so. What cut of meat is a “Cow singlet”? The waiter, when asked, couldn’t say if the cut of beef was fillet, sirloin or something else. He was only sure it was “cow” and sliced. We asked for a Spanish menu, which might have helped. but this wasn’t provided.
The food: an excellent scallop starter, but a single modestly-sized scallop. I ordered a second as I was still hungry. The gamba rojo main dish was just ok and the only real flavour came from the gambas themselves (total:2 and served raw of course) and small clams (total: 2). The rice they sat on didn’t taste of a great deal. At this point, we called it a day.
In all, it was pretty disappointing.
