点评：What a lovely find after visiting the Kiel Holtenau Canal Platform. We needed a nice "sit down" restaurant for our party, several of whom have some mobility issues. Although we first looked near the water, nothing quite fit the bill for our family members. We were so fortunate to have found Ratskeller while searching the interwebs. This non-touristy restaurant is located at the base of the old town hall in Kiel, on the Rathausplatz, and located near several shopping areas and a beautiful waterfront park across the street. (Ground floor, no steps needed for the patio, but there are steps inside the restaurant, including to the restroom.) If you visit during Christmas there is a market in the plaza. We sat outside on the patio, but the inside of this restaurant is gorgeous as well. English menus were available, and the staff knew enough English to get by. Service was great, albeit keep in mind it's at the more relaxed European pace...you'll need to ask for your bill when you are ready. Don't be put off by the game on the menu, there are many great options. Salads were amazing, as was the schnitzel. They also served a delectable Chanterelle mushroom cream and pasta soup that is still being talked about as the best soup ever! During our visit, we were one of only two parties that did not appear to locals. Lots of cute dog watching opportunities too! Credit cards are accepted here, and there is taxi access right outside the restaurant patio, no long walk needed. Address is Fleethorn 9, 24103 Kiel, Germany
