Central location but falls short on expectations
波茨坦市美居酒店的点评
点评：If you are looking for a hotel that is centrally placed in Postdam close to all the historical sites, a short walk to the railway station (which has a direct train connection with the airport), with the possibility of having a room with a nice view, then this is a decent place to stay and don't read on.
A few issues you may wish to be aware of:
- I booked a superior room. It is "compact". Or if there are two guests, "intimate"
- if you book a double bed, don't expect to get one. Reception said to me that it only means two single beds/mattresses pushed together.
- sound-proofing is terrible both to the outside world and inside. You get to hear doors to guest rooms slamming shut all hours of the day and night. Even cleaning staff shouting down the corridor at each other. I am on the 15th floor and you can hear street noise (cars, trams) quite clearly. I will give the hotel a "pass" for the temporary fun fair adjacent to the hotel which is open until late in the night. EAR PLUGS a must.
- no fitness centre...need to walk to main station
- cafe only open limited hours
- no in-room kettle and limited room to set up an iron (you have to order an iron)
Bottom line- would I stay here again? the negatives by far outweigh the positives.
