点评:We were really excited by the great reviews for their signature dish, the Gigot of Lamb and encouraged by the restaurant full signs that appeared outside every day we walked past. So we were expecting something really outstanding but while it was very nice it wasn’t anything more than I and many others can produce at home for Sunday lunch.
Our reservation was for 7pm and so we were amongst the first diners and after ordering our meal I watched while a leg of lamb was being pre carved and then the slices were placed in a chafing dish where it was later transferred to plates. Probably because we were early the first slices were not as pink as they could have been so perhaps people should state a preference but overall it was a bit underwhelming.
We ordered Tarte Tatin for desert which emerged from the kitchen five minutes after placing the order. Tepid and clearly reheated before serving.
A few nights later we sat chatting to a local resident in another restaurant. He asked where else we had been to eat and we mentioned the Bar Tabac. “Ah, the Gigot” he said, and raised his eyebrows and made a face.
