点评：Rado has been my favourite beach restaurant in Cannes for many years. With friends and family I dined there on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve this year with fabulous experiences. Yesterday’s visit was bitterly disappointing as they have succumbed to that well-known Cote D’Azur money-making scam of running out of affordable wine. Three of us sat down for lunch and ordered the €40 bottle of wine to be told they had sold out. Same with one at €48. Next price available was €75 so we decided to leave and find somewhere we could enjoy two bottles for our casual mid-week lunch without it becoming overly expensive. Only then did the witness say they had “found” one bottle of the cheaper wines. We could see the second bottle would jump up to €75 so we said we would still leave. Miraculously they found us a second bottle. We stayed, for convenience at this point, but later regretted it as the food which followed was mediocre for the price. This is not the first time that all three of us have had encountered this scam at different Cannes restaurants. It’s far too easy to be fooled in to over-spending once you are seated and it happens too many times here.
