点评：I went with a large group of friends to celebrate a birthday. As we got there, I was kinda disappointed by the over expensive price and the low variety of main courses to choose from. However, this was a one-time celebration so I ended up not thinking to much about it, even though it bothered me and my friends.
The worse and what made me write this review was what happened after dinner. After we ate, we went out in the street just to get some hair. We stayed for a bit, walked a bit down down the street and made our way back into the restaurant, which at this point had already became a nightclub and so we decided to stay there instead of going somewhere else. As I was about to enter the restaurant with a friend of mine, we were abruptly stopped by the two security guards (at the door) and one of the waiters (who had previously been to our table to bring the drinks). I was a bit confused as they started to speak in a somewhat aggressive manner. Now I do speak French, but I’m not native, so there’s lots that I don’t understand, especially when people are speaking fast and being aggressive. My friend who was with me doesn’t speak or understand french, so he was completely confused. At some point, the three of them were speaking at the same time, making it even more hard to understand. Luckily, I did understood the word “Bonsoir” and I remembered that in France it’s a big deal if you don’t say “Bonjour” or “Bonsoir” when you enter a place. I didn’t say it but my friend did. But I understand, it’s the culture, you gotta respect it. Anyway, because I wasn’t sure about what they were saying, I asked them if they could tell me in English, to which they said “My English is very bad” with a mocking voice. You don’t speak English? Fine. But don’t make fun of foreign people for asking. So this was already going on for a long time and all I wanted was for me and my friend to go join our friends inside so I said in french “Just to be sure, you’re saying that we cannot go in just because I didn’t said Bonsoir?” To which one of the security guards responded (I think, they were speaking way too fast so I’m not sure): “When you go to the bakery, you don’t enter without saying good morning, do you?” (All of this while doing a poor imitation of me, I assume). To this point I was shocked that all of this had happened just because I didn’t said goodnight. I said “Ok, you’re right but can I go in?” They finally letted us in. But it wasn’t the end.
Later in the night, we got out of the restaurant again, this time a bigger group. When we were going back in, I went last behind my friends. Everyone got in without saying “Bonsoir” but me. And the same security guard that stopped me in the first place said something to me in french, so aggressively that I still don’t know what the hell he said. I just went inside and after a few moments I left. The night was done for me. This night that should have been of celebration ended up becoming a bad memory. Definitely won’t be going back there.
This obviously wasn’t the end of the world. But it was enough to ruin a night that I longed for with my friends. It’s ridiculous how the security guards and on waiter treat costumers, especially someone who had consumed there before (and paid a lot!). I got humiliated without a reason and I definitely wont be going back there.
