点评：Generally we avoid restaurants unless we've HAVE to go out etc, ok we have a short list of favorites, but it's short. Are we getting older, grumpier? Maybe. We avoid the average so-so meals that are frustratingly expensive, and we are cooks so we buy fantastic food at the markets. Ok I won't bore you anymore. La Gonelle was the best restaurant meal I've had in...years? Yes years. We got there early, without réservations, we were seated...outside overlooking the bay. The service? Boom! Menus arrived. BANG the wine arrived. A healthy over half full glass not a miserly one third. We needed salt. It was there, fast. RAT A TAT TAT the entre of oysters arrived and they were the best oysters I've ever had. 2 little vinaigrier sauces I've never seen before. And we live opposite the fish/oyster market in Deauville. The plats? A pasta dish with fruits de mers and petits coques...my gosh. Little details. Copious cloves of garlic with the potatoes. And leaves of salad mixed with the potatoes. Never seen that before. Just one désert offered. I know why. It was perfect whats not to like? Moses Malone do one thing well. And not overpriced. We also had our dog with us. No problem! I'm still amazed at the teamwork behind their service. 3 different people were waiting on us. I guess I'm still in a state of shock. The good kind!
