点评：I’d heard good things about the restaurant and was looking forward to a nice meal with friends. Arriving ten minutes early on a bitter cold day, we hoped to wait indoors but were disappointed, the door was locked.Two employees were standing in front, smoking their cigarettes, and didn’t seem to notice our plight. We had no choice but to wait on the sidewalk until we were allowed inside.
The restaurant’s decor is pleasant and the tables aren’t too close together. At lunch there are only two options, the daily or the monthly menus. We opted for the monthly menu, three courses for €38, no amuse bouche and no friandises with the coffee were served. The first course, brussels sprouts and a purée with citrus fruits, was agreeable if not spectacular. The main course, onglet de boeuf with purée was disappointing: the meat wasn’t braised nearly long enough and was,sadly, stringy and tough. It also wasn’t well spiced, so somewhat bland. The purée was excellent, however, which was a redeeming grace. As dessert, a moelleux de chocolate was served with crème anglaise. I ate two bites and gave up: too sweet, too little chocolate flavor, and way too raw. The flavor of raw egg was so disturbing as to make it -for me - not edible. On the whole, the presentation was lackluster. After each course the waitress asked if we‘d liked it, but didn’t react when nobody said anything, neither positive nor negative, nor did she take notice when she cleared away plates that were nearly full. It seemed to me that there wasn’t any real interest in our opinion = no interest in improvement? It wouldn’t be hard to make an excellent meal out of what was served, very little effort is involved. But the will must be there. I cook better than this at home, so I found it disappointing and probably won’t bother to go there again.
