点评:First of all, credit it where it's due, Ive used Mango Tree maybe 10 times to date for my Indian takeways (3 times in the last few months) and food is very very good; and that is obviously the most important thing. So absolutely no complaints in that respect!
HOWEVER their service handling tonight was abysmal. I ordered my delivery online and was given an "expected" delivery time of 8.45pm which was ideal.
Since the order goes via a 3rd party payment merchant I always like to call just to make sure its all gone through okay which I did shortly after, and was surprised to hear it was "on its way".....nearly 1-hour earlier than it said online but no problem for me, I left friends and family and went home.
25 mins later....no food arrival, and when calling told was told "yes on its left as is on it's way". (surely imminent?).
20mins later had to call again and was apologetically told it's only "3-4mins away".
Told them I wasnt happy and I hope it's not cold, I dont mind if its late but please dont lie to me. They reaffirmed it was "3-4mins away and dont worry the food is in special boxes to keep hot"
Another 20mins after that it arrived!!! And the curry was indeed cold so I had to put in microwave.
Look, I genuinely do not care if food is going to be late, I totally appreciate its a busy time of year and things inevitably go wrong. But lying to customers is just unacceptable. I run my own business and being brave and owning up to errors is integral to customer service
Really pissed off as a result. I curtailed my time with family and friends when it was meant to be an hour early, then had to chase my order 3 times after lies, and then had to warm it all up when it arrived.
Even if it means slightly worse food elsewhere, today is my last order with Mango Tree.
Got to have your principles.
