The Core Swindon的点评
点评：I have frequented The Core a lot. Sometimes alone and sometimes with a friend.
When I first discovered it I was delighted...healthy food and drinks in Swindon; quite a find.
Over a period of time I found that I couldn't continue to rely on their business hours, so much so that even checking their website didn't guarantee I would be in time to order. Closing times have pulled back from 3pm to 2pm and, finally, 1pm.
In recent months I called beforehand because it would be pointless to travel 8 miles to be disappointed. It is not as though there is a similar alternative in Old Town. I was told that as long as I arrived to order before Ipm I would be served.
When I/we arrived, we were told that the kitchen had closed. It was 12.50. The staff in question dealt with it well as there was no alternative. It had been quiet and they had started clearing before 1pm.
I gave all that explanation as a background to my frustration two weeks ago when I arrived on a wet and windy day at around 11.45 -12. I wanted lunch as I was going onto a further appointment.
As I reached the top of the stairs, the owner was seemingly holding a business meeting; the place was empty and he explained that there had been an event the night before (waving his hand at some balloons) and the staff were sleeping it off.
"Didn't you see the notice on the (open) door?" "No". As I walked out it saw it laying sodden on the pavement.
My point is...businesses need to exhibit reliability or they will lose their customers. Customers like myself will say 'I like the concept but I do not like the fact that there is a certain 'gung ho' attitude to how the business is run regarding opening hours'.
