点评：Staying in the area so booked in for early dinner. Very old pub but dining room quite modern. We were the only ones there so very quiet. There was a quiz in the bar area so busy in there. Annoying piano disc music was playing in the dining hall but it wasn’t soothing music. Would have been better without it. Menu was mainly Italian. We had pizza, which looked great until you looked at the bottom. It was burnt black. It was around £17 so not cheap. Because I am not keen on Italian food, I had a light bite of slow cooked pork belly. It was fried to heat and like eating little bricks and it came with freezing cold caramelised onions which were soggy. At £9.50 it was very expensive for a couple of squares of burnt pork. I also ordered mash, which was actually nice, and hoped for a small salad with it but they wouldn’t do it. It has the makings of being a nice place and the food could have been good if it hadn’t been over cooked. Extremely expensive for what you get, especially as it wasn’t very nice. Should have sent it back but we had been travelling for hours and didn’t have the energy. If we are ever in the area again we wouldn’t be booking here.
