点评:Saturday 4th May we took a stroll around the small harbour area in Wexford Town.
We accessed the harbour by walking across the singal line rail track at the unmanned crossing, possibly the most exciting bit.
The edge of the quay was lined by brightly coloured fishing trawlers with a few pleasure boats bobbing on the water
There are some interesting features to look out for when walking about, especially up by Crescent Quay which abuts and forms part of the Harbour.
These include the John Barry Monument, Irish Mariners Memorial and the MV Kerlogue Memorial.
Along the Harbour wall are the mosaic pictures in hommage to the Fishermen of Wexford.
Just outside the Harbour wall is Ballast Bank, which built in 1832, from where sand was used to stabilise and balance ship once they had unloaded their cargo. Back in the 19th century, Wexford was a busy harbour where mainly coal was unloaded.
Wexford Bridge which links Ferrybank South to Wexford Town, it spans the River Slaney and is situated near the Harbour.
