After receiving booking confirmation from booking.com (and paid), I received a call telling me that I had to check-in via a link in an email received from the hotel. This was necessary for me to receive my access code apparently
I duly obliged & was then faced with either a £100 deposit in case of damages or a £10.70 waiver, a complete surprise!
Upon arrival the access code didn’t open the outdoor key safe. No one around to ask. Eventually with the help of the restaurant staff I learned this code was for the room door. And the last digit was a hash, no hash on the key pad. Again restaurant staff helped., you had to press the bell key for #
We had a coffee in the room using the 2 milk portions in the room. I called the number provided for any issues to ask for some more milk for later. Unfortunately the remote staff member advised we only get 2 & they won’t be replenished until Monday !,, ( it was a Saturday).
Breakfast is not available until 9am! Every day!
The room printed information said checkout at 11. I clicked the checkout link in another email & it said there strictly 10am!
We left in a hurry just before 10 fearing a late checkout fee (they had £100 of my money)
If you are going to run a hotel remotely you have to have good systems & please leave a good handful of room refreshments!
Ironically after leaving, I received another hotel email asking about my stay & if I had any issues report the “direct to the hotel”
