点评：I’m writing this review with a heavy heart after an otherwise enjoyable evening was deeply overshadowed by a disappointing and frankly upsetting incident involving the management. A young woman was refused access to the ladies’ toilets simply because she did not conform to management’s assumptions about how a woman should look. Despite the fact that all the women present were perfectly comfortable and supportive of her using the facilities, she was singled out and told to leave the ladies’ bathroom.
It was distressing to witness such exclusion in 2025 — especially in a space where everyone should feel safe, respected, and welcomed. The individual in question handled the situation with dignity, but the way she was treated by staff was nothing short of discriminatory. It’s deeply concerning that outdated and prejudiced attitudes are being enforced under the guise of “policy” or “safety.”
The atmosphere created by this decision completely contradicted the spirit of inclusivity and acceptance that most of us in the venue clearly shared. Management had an opportunity to show compassion and allyship, and they chose instead to alienate someone based on appearance.
I truly hope the Brasshouse takes time to reflect on this incident and considers updating its policies and training to ensure that no one else is made to feel so unwelcome simply for being who they are.
