点评:First visit to Marcel, with friends for my bday. Music was great. Nice vibe. Wait staff were all pleasant. Food was tasty, with decent portions and reasonably priced. Only 2 diasapointments: 1) I ordered the beef bourguignon, which I expected to be unctuously stewy with big stewed mushrooms, pearl onions, etc, but it was presented nouvelle style in a stack of shredded beef, no sauce to speak of with fairly undiscernable mushroom/onion flecks set atop. The meat was tasty, and surprisingly filling, but just didn't really match expectation of classic bourguinon. 2) the evening was slightly marred by the sustained clatter of cutlery being dumped and redumped by waitstaff near the serving hatch throughout or main and dessert courses. We were a table furthest from, and couldn't quite see what they were doing for so long that raised that din (sounded like they were reoeatedly tossing it like a salad) but in an already acoustically challenged space, it was unfortunately quite distracting and impinged on table conversation. If the team could take that task to back of house during service, that would be a nice improvement for the diners.
