点评：The house and gardens are well worth a visit although it was disappointing how few rooms are open for viewing, nothing upstairs or the kitchen area. The service in the cafe however was very poor. We arrived just after 12:15 and there was a small queue of around 6 people ahead of us with a gentleman and young girl serving and making hot drinks. There was only one menu available which was being passed along the queue. It took around 10 minutes before we were served with the gentleman disappearing at one point presumably to the kitchen to prepare food orders. We eventually ordered (sandwiches and hot drinks), and was given a numbered spoon to take to the table. It was 1:34 before our order arrived. The drinks came first with the tea being a mug with a tea bag, no milk, no spoon, nothing to place the used teabag in! I asked about milk and was told i had to collect it from back at where the counter was. When the sandwiches finally arrived mine was wrong but the server didn’t apologise or offer to get it changed and as I didn’t wish to wait any longer I accepted it. So unfortunately what was a lovely visit in terms of the house and gardens, was let down by the poor cafe experience and the £16 entrance fee didn’t feel value for money.
