Great staff but disappointing stay

点评：It’s important to say the staff here are friendly, helpful and clearly work hard.
And also we stayed on an incredibly hot weekend. The rooms are well turned out though.
BUT…..
Our room was a sauna and we could not sleep, all that was provided was a small and ineffective fan. In fairness we needed an aircon unit.
The real kickers were: breakfast pretty bad and the coffee was not good. The cafetière that came with our underdone eggs and soggy bread (not toasted) was lukewarm and weak as a kitten. We politely asked if we could have an espresso from the machine and the clearly overworked manager said it would be while to get one and when it did arrive it as clearly just the same coffee.
At lunchtime we asked if we could order some food and were told that they were not accepting walk-ins, I said we were guests but it was still a no. We were offered some olives and crisps. The poor waitress was clearly embarrassed and said they were understaffed.
There was a wedding party due and I totally get that large groups of guests all expecting food and drinks are a handful but they hadn’t even arrived.
It’s a shame because it’s a nice place with good garden space, the staff work hard and were really trying to make things work but we found it very disappointing.
We didn’t come back (after the wedding we attended) for our second night that we had pre-paid for.

午餐时间，我们问是否可以点餐，被告知他们不接受临时顾客。我说我们是客人，但还是不行。他们给我们提供了一些橄榄和薯片。可怜的女服务员显然很尴尬，说他们人手不够。
婚礼派对就要举行了，我完全理解一大群宾客期待着丰盛的美食和饮品，但他们竟然还没到。
这真是太遗憾了，因为这里环境优美，花园空间宽敞，工作人员也非常努力，尽力让一切顺利进行，但我们却感到非常失望。
我们（参加完婚礼后）没有再来住我们预付的第二晚。
