The Courtyard Cafe Bar的点评
点评：I should have guessed from my booking experience that this was not going to go well! I had seen the advert for the Courtyard’s bottomless festive small plates with its accompanying image of a veritable feast and emailed the Courtyard, as it advised. Having had no response I rang and left a voicemail. No one rang me back and eventually I rang again and managed to secure a booking. We were advised to attend at 7pm when food would be served.
We duly arrived at 7, there was only one other table for two apart from ours, and a table laid out for 16. The table of 16 arrived late and therefore food was not brought out until 40 minutes after we had sat down. We were offered a complimentary mulled wine which neither of us wanted and were not offered a non alcoholic alternative (we were driving).
The food was a very odd combination of dishes and of poor quality. The cheese fondue tasted more like a packet cheese sauce and I doubt many of the dishes were homemade. The roast potatoes, with a disgusting vegetarian gravy and topped with grated cheese were a culinary disaster. The ‘hot smoked salmon, celeriac remoulade, rocket’ was inedible and looked like it had been thrown on the plate!
The only item we finished was the bowl of cashew nuts!
Even the ambience of the eating area was all wrong, albeit the two young staff members were charming and did their best!
It was a very disappointing evening. As we left the staff member offered us takeaway boxes so we could take any uneaten food home with us (of which there was a lot!) needless to say we declined!
We will not be returning. The Courtyard is an impressive building in an ideal location for visitors to our city and it is a real shame that it does little to attract people to return in relation to the catering facilities. It was a total waste of £70.

这是一个非常令人失望的夜晚。当我们离开时，工作人员为我们提供了外卖盒，这样我们就可以把任何未吃的食物带回家（其中有很多！）不用说我们拒绝了！
我们不会回来。庭院是一座令人印象深刻的建筑，地理位置优越，是来我们城市旅游的游客的理想选择，但遗憾的是，它的餐饮设施并没有吸引人们再次光顾。这总共浪费了 70 英镑。
