点评：An amazing experience. We'd just returned from a gastronomic tour of france and the basque country so wanted to treat ourselves to some proper english grub and were not disappointed. Everything on the plate was delicious from the smokey cabbage and broccoli to the variety of meats and the gravy I could've happily had a pint of. I enjoyed a couple of cocktails whilst my partner had a cracking wheat beer.
The beef was sumptuous, the pork tender and flavoursome and the lamb sausage was a very pleasant surprise. My girlfriend's chicken was apparently some of the best she's ever tasted (it was gone before I got a taste!). We also ordered the gratin which was stunning and if I'd had it anywhere else would've been the star of the show but for the above. I dont like superlatives and have eaten roasts all over the country but I'm quite happy to say it was probably the best I've ever had.
There was one stand out star though and that was the service, the front of house was exceptional, attentive yet invisible and at hand when needed. I dont think I've ever mentioned the staff in any of my reviews but he certainly deserves a mention. We couldn't finish it all and I hate to ask for a takeaway but there was no way I was letting anything go to waste and they kindly offered without us having to ask.
If I could give 6 stars I would, if you're in Brighton on a Sunday treat yourself; you won't be spending money, you'll be investing in some very happy memories!

如果可以给六星，我会给。如果你周日在布莱顿，一定要犒劳一下自己；你不会花钱，而是会投资一些非常美好的回忆！
