点评：This is not about the Makers Yard Kitchen, but the cafe with outside seating opposite the disabled parking.
I checked the menu online and decided what I wanted prior to my visit.
As with most cafes, you queue at a counter, make your choices, and pay.
At a point before you have even had any 'service', a 12.5% service charge is added!
It's a nice cafe, and I would not have minded paying £9 for the Mushrooms on Sourdough Toast, but to advertise it as £8 on the menu but actually charge £9 is devious.
So, get real... ditch the service charge and price the menu items so that costs and profit are covered and staff are paid fairly.
Remember it's a cafe and the service was just appropriate for such an establishment; we got out breakfast items and drinks, but the 'niceties' of restaurant dining were lacking, so don't embarrass yourselves and just raise the prices by 12.5%.
Of course, if we have been greeted in a friendly fashion, asked if everything was OK with our breakfasts, asked if we required any more drinks or food then perhaps an additional 'tip' may have been justified. Sadly, that was lacking - just the basic cafe 'put it on the table' and go routine.
That said, the Mushrooms on Sourdough Toast were very tasty, and the outside seating area was pleasant and comfortable.
