Outstanding, historical and fun walking tour
Chester Edwardian Lady Tour的点评
点评：I went on this tour with my friend which was an absolutely superb and historically correct romp through the eyes of an Edwardian Lady living in the city.
The tour served to orientate visitors around the fascinating medieval city of Chester as well as take us into an historic building and highlighted the distinctive architecture as well as explained the connections between The Grosvenor family and the influence they have had on many aspects of the city's development.
We arrived at the town cross in time to listen to the town crier and explored the famous rows and walls.
I particularly liked the fact that our guide, explained the significance of women getting the vote in Britain (Sufferage) and the struggle in Edwardian times, which many take for granted now.
The tour was delivered in a highly imaginative way as well as having been meticulously researched with artefacts of the time to bring the era to life.
I have been on many walking tours in UK and abroad and this is one of the best, if not the best I have ever enjoyed. Delivered by a Chester Green Badge Guide, (tickets from the Tourist Information Office) which also had the added historically correct costumed element which made the whole tour immensely fun and in some ways like stepping back in time.
Our guide always had a twinkle in her eye and gave guests opportunities to take photo’s as well included them in any discussion points.
Five stars, thoroughly entertaining and informative morning. She deserved double the tip I gave her!
