点评:We were in Bristol to attend a concert, which was unfortunately cancelled due to illness. However, as it was also my Wife’s birthday and we had already booked accommodation at Hotel Du Vin we decided to stay away in any case.
Having not booked dinner, we made a last minute decision to eat at the Hotel. The 5-course Taste-Du-Vin tasting menu, with wines caught our attention, so we ordered.
Every course was amazing, with some real surprises, such as the Steak Tartare, which I can whole-heartedly recommend, along with the Pan-Fried Cod, which were both amazing. The presentation of each course was stunning and the tastes devine.
As much as the food was great, the wines were also perfectly paired, thanks to Will (our Sommelier for the evening). Will was outstanding, clearly excited about his work, the wines and the opportunities that stand in front of him. He was utterly engaging and it was a delight to converse with him - it lifted an already amazing experience up another level.
To top it off, Will gave us a private tour of the cellar, which was also a real eye-opener.
