点评:Visited the New Inn on 5th January 2025 for lunch. The main entrance hadn't been cleared of snow from the previous night's fall so getting to the door was slippery and hazardous.The restaurant was freezing cold with guest's wearing coats and scarfs to keep warm. My wife and I had roast beef which was cooked well but lacked any flavour. The Yorkshire pudding were nice and light but also flavourless. A pinch of thyme or rosemary and some salt in the cooking would have transformed them. My cauliflower was on the raw side of al dente. Roast potatoes are so easy to get right and make crisp on the outside with a light fluffy interior. However, these were like rocks outside and inside they just sucked all the moisture from ones mouth. For dessert I had a teaspoon sized ball of ice-cream, souffle which was ok and a Grand Mariner sauce which was really good. However the sauce came in a toy jug that simply didn't pour but just ran everywhere. The only good thing was the cutlery which was by Robert Welch. The cost was simply a waste of £85.
