点评:I’m not one to publicly call out a person or business, and I’ve never done it before but I feel I really have to share this experience. My daughter (4 years old) and I were at fresh cup in saanichton just now and we ordered our drinks and treats and then the very kind girl at the til said we are welcome to take a seat and wait for our drinks. While on our way to sit down My daughter was curious and we just quietly paused for a moment well out of the way to watch the man making the drinks, as there wasn’t anyone behind us or near us. The man making the drinks had a little spill of the drink he was working on and I quietly mentioned to my daughter “oh, that poor man, I hope he hasn’t burned himself” and explained to her that the machine is hot. He then very rudely turned around and demanded we get out of the lane way (which we were not even blocking at all and no other patrons were near by) and said it is distracting for him and that we had to go take a seat. What if we were glancing at the display case of food to purchase?? Or thinking of ordering something more?. I think perhaps he was unhappy that he had spilled the drink and took it out on myself and my young daughter. I was appalled at the way he spoke to us. I asked the very kind girl on the til afterwards if I could mention it to the owner and she said he was the owner! I then went and spoke to him and he continued to be rude and borderline angry towards us. This was such a disappointing and unsettling experience. And I reminded him he is in customer service and that my daughter was just a child who wanted to stand back and quietly watch for a second. He then tried to make the excuse that the laneway needs to be kept clear and that there was a woman with a stroller coming next. To note this woman with stroller didn’t even enter until we were seated. Also I mentioned I did see the sign about not blocking the space which we were most definitely not. The girl behind the till apologized profusely and I could tell she was embarrassed I love supporting local and will continue to do so but I do expect a certain level of respect and kindness. This we did not receive 😞 I actually left shaking because he was so confrontational. I’ve never had this happen at a coffee shop or any shop before for that matter. since I cannot complain to management I’m venting on here. Rant over.
