点评：Kayaking in the Johnstone Straight has been on my bucket list for many years. Summer 2024 brought the opportunity for my daughter and I to take in this amazing experience and I am so very glad I chose karibu. This was so much more than I was hoping for, and I was hoping for a lot!
The wildlife was incredible. There were times during our kayaking when there was so much to see . . . it felt like I didnt even know which way to look and could barely take it all in. Gorgeous scenery, sea lions, humpback whales, and orcas ..... all happening at the same time! It was like a wildlife buffet and we were happy to gorge on the incredible sights. We were even treated to orca and humpbacks in the water right in front of the camp where we were staying. The sound of the blowholes from the whales at night right in front of our tent is something I will never forget.
The bonus with our karibu itinerary was the indigenous aspect. From the first day to the last, we learned about the native people of the land, how they are working to bring their language and culture back to use and the importance of the orca to their culture. My original bucket list was about the kayaking experience. This bonus of learning about the native culture firsthand from the people who were part of the tour turned out to be even more meaningful than the kayaking portion.
Food was great, quides were fantastic, people were amazing. Highly, highly recommend.
