Moyo Island Resort的点评
点评：We came as a family of 5 for a long weekend and stayed about 4 nights. We came to dive and snorkel with whale sharks. It was a bit of a journey from our home and required an overnight stay in Bali, as the flight from Bali to Lombok was earlier than our flight arrived. I contact our hosts Andrew and Anne through WhatsApp. They both were amazing hosts. They helped us stay in a family cabin with AC across from the restaurant and pool. They helped arrange for our pick-up from the airport and a speedboat transfer to their resort. The pick-up and transport were seemless. The speedboat ride was a bit long due to traveling against the current.
My family loved their pet dog and pet baby deer (which they rescued and are raising until adulthood).
Their service team was great, and we tried everything on their menu, including western & Indonesian food. They have trained their team well and are constantly making drinks or snacks for us. We were fortunate that the first night they grilled up a 9-kg giant traveler fish that was caught by the village fishermen. The second night, they cooked up a variety of delicious Indonesian food.
Our room was sufficient for us. They are still in the process of improving it. Overall, it was decent and clean, with AC and fans. Luckily, the weather is not too hot towards the end of the day. At night, it is pitch black heading from the restaurant to our cabin.
We didn't get much sleep the first night as we had to leave at 3am to go by speedboat to snorkel with whale sharks by sunrise in the south of Teluk Bay (3 hours away). This was an amazing experience for us to swim with about 4 whale sharks in the middle of the bay. We snorkeled with whale sharks (so friendly), had a breakfast break, and then, at about 10:30 a.m., headed back. The trip back took half the time.
We did 5 boat dives with them. They were great dive guides and took care of us. We saw reef sharks, eels, snakes, and many fish. We tried to find some mantas but weren't able to come across any. On one of our dives, we ended the dive on a slightly submerged island (waist-high water depth of 1.5 m) at sunset. We watch the beautiful sunset before swimming over to the boat. On one of our last dives, during our surface interval, they took us on a short hike to Sangl Waterfall. It was a forest full of butterflies. Google identified the butterflies as Vindula dejone, the Malay cruiser.
Our trip back to the main island on a speedboat was much faster. We made it much earlier than needed for our flight and journey back home.
Our only issue was the presence of wasps. Even after they would remove any nests and spray the wasps, they would always return. I guess it can't be helped being situated in the middle of a forest / wild growth. The island is only partially developed, with a bit of farm land.
They took great care of us from start to finish. We will definitely come back.
